A new special summer episode of the AI for Educators: Design Lab podcast is now available. In this Design Sprint recap, I reflect on what I learned while working with educators across K–12, higher education, and professional learning to redesign AI-vulnerable learning experiences. Rather than looking for ways to "AI-proof" your assignments, the Design Sprint process focused on more fundamental design questions: What do you want learners to know and be able to do? What learning approach gets them there in the age of AI?

As I discuss in the Design Sprint Recap podcast episode, a cohort of educators worked through the AI for Educators Design Sprint over four days last June. Each participant brought one of their own AI-vulnerable learning experiences and used a structured design process to rethink it for an AI-integrated world. If the timing didn’t work for your schedule, the Design Sprint materials are now available on demand for you to review at your own pace.
In this self-paced version of the Design Sprint, you’ll work through the same design process, but on your own schedule. This flexible experience includes the downloadable worksheets, guided independent design activities, and recorded sessions from the June cohort. Work through them on your own timeline. There are no new live sessions, and your 120 days of access begin as soon as you enroll.

The AI for Educators: Design Lab podcast series focuses on the agency we have to design effective learning experiences when AI is present and to make informed decisions in the face of this new reality. With AI, we're facing a tension I like to call the convergence of messy and magical. AI promises exciting innovation and efficiency, but it also raises significant concerns.
